Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Horizon Europe (HE) is the European Union's key funding programme (2021 – 2027) for research and innovation, with funding of 53.5 billion euros (approx. NZ $90 billion). It tackles climate change, helps to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and boosts the European Union's competitiveness and growth. From early 2023, New Zealand researchers can apply to Pillar Two of Horizon Europe, which presents a significant opportunity for UoA to showcase our research excellence, strengthen our international collaborations and positively impact the world stage. Pillar II funds are distributed across six themes ('clusters'), with a number of topic areas ('destinations') within each cluster. Work programmes for each cluster for the 2023–2024 period are available from the European Commission website. These identify predefined topics to be addressed in the current period and the expected outcomes for each.Are you looking for your next challenge? We seek a Research Manager, International to join our team in the Office of Research Strategy & Integrity (ORSI) The initial focus of the role will be on establishing the University of Auckland’s strategic response to the Horizon Europe programme – thereby ensuring our initial preparedness to apply for funding and laying the groundwork for ongoing success in these applications. In the longer term this position will play a critical role in identifying, pursuing, and diversifying international partnership opportunities for the university related to collaborative international research activities.This is a fixed-term role/secondment for 24 months, full-time, 37.5 hours per week. The salary range for this role is $92,100 - $113,800 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.
