Equally key in the role is uplifting the capability of our junior Developers. We run a successful graduate program and pride ourselves on this continued mana-enhancing environment within the team.As a Senior Developer you will be responsible for building quality solutions while mentoring and guiding the team to help develop mature practices. Your experience will be important in designing and delivering solutions with appreciation of both their technical and business contexts.  As we are going through a transformational phase of changing our ways of working, this is an opportunity for you to drive this change and have your say!AccountabilitiesMentor and support Junior DevelopersParticipate and support application development, implementation, and maintenance activitiesEngage in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for ensuring that best possible solutions are achieved.Actively attend and support Agile ways of workYou will be part of a cross-functional delivery team, tasked with delivering high performance solutions and be expected to actively participate and contribute to the team using IT best practices for our colleagues and customers.For more detailed information, please refer to the Position Description.These are permanent fulltime (37.5 hour/ week) positions, with a salary range of $95,000 - $115,000 per annum. This will be highly dependent on your skills and experience.Mō tō māou rōpū | About the teamWe are the Digital Development Kaitiaki. A group to 30 developers with the development stewardship of one of New Zealand’s largest IT estates. Our team members are integrated into Agile teams that are responsible for a specific value stream for the University.  He kōrero mōu | About youOur team functions in a flat structure, where you will work alongside management, so you’ll need to be proactive and take on your mahi as you see fit for the best results. You will need to have demonstrated work experience in a development role with familiarity with most aspects of the software development lifecycle.Essential to the tole is your experience with mentoring and guiding junior developers. You’ll be a self-starter and keen to promote and adapt change as we are modernising the current state of how we work and operate. Innovation and idea sharing is not only welcomed but encouraged!Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important SkillsPassionate and experienced in mentoring/coaching others in their rolesConfident to provide constructive feedback to team members and problem solve collaborativelyDevelopment experience, in a selection of languages, platforms, technologies, and functional domains with specific focus on Java.
