Job Description

The Opportunity:Mattel Fisher-Price(East Aurora) is currently looking for a fun, motivated and passionate influencer to join its employee wellness team! Senior Fitness Associate works in conjunction with wellness management to provide a unique and comprehensive health and well-being program and best in class exercise programming to improve the health and well-being of Mattel’s employee population. Candidate will be responsible for delivering individual and group exercise programs, while assisting Supervisor with all day-to-day operations, employee programs, special events, and departmental communications.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Manage personal training or group exercise program to include scheduling, record keeping, and making program improvements as needed.
  • Provide positive and supportive environment, building relationships with employees to help maintain and build member base.
  • Design and conduct group exercise and special interest classes as required.
  • Assist in training interns and outside contractors/instructors.
  • Provide safe and effective individual and personal training for all fitness levels, novice to advanced.
  • Assist fitness staff with coordinating, planning, and facilitating health and well-being activities and programs as directed.
  • Attend weekly/monthly fitness staff meetings and other requested meetings/events as directed by Supervisor.
  • Handle member concerns/feedback in a professional, objective manner with the goal of resolution and retention when applicable.
  • Provide clerical support.
  • Responsible for organization and cleanliness of facility.
  • Flexible and available to work all shifts during gym operating hours (weekdays only).

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Health related field preferred
  • 2 or more years related work experience required
  • CPR/AED certification required
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel

Preferred:

  • National personal training or group exercise certifications (e.g., ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, BodyPump, POUND, Spinning) preferred
  • Current First Aid certification preferred

  • Passion and desire to positively affect the lives of employees daily.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently prioritize workload.
  • Knowledge of all fitness and exercise equipment.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of health and well-being programs.
  • Technical expertise in physical fitness testing, health risk appraisal, interviewing and exercise prescription in a confidential setting.
  • High level of energy and ability to motivate members to reach goals and objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
