AECOM is seeking a Civil Highway Project Inspector to support highway-related Construction Management projects in Suffolk County. In this role, you will assist with field inspections, monitor construction activities, and help ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects while gaining valuable experience within a leading engineering and construction services team. Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements by performing thorough inspection dutiesConducting daily field inspections of highway construction sites and maintaining detailed inspection recordsParticipating in creating and resolving punch lists and tracking quality assurance progress.Verifying that construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codesCoordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project timelines and quality standards are metReviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.Identifying potential issues or conflicts in the field and reporting them to the project manager in a timely mannerDocumenting construction progress through written reports, photographs, and other means as requiredEnsuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures on the construction siteAttending project meetings and providing updates on inspection findings and construction progressAssisting in the review and approval of material submittals and shop drawingsPerforming or overseeing materials testing as needed to ensure quality standards are metMaintaining accurate and up-to-date project files, including daily reports, test results, and correspondenceCollaborating with design teams to address field issues and implement necessary design changes.Participating in final inspections and project close-out activities to ensure all work meets required standards
