Senior Producer, Weekend Nightly News

The Senior Producer works directly with the executive producer, anchors, and staff to generate and oversee the production of hard news and enterprise segments for NBC Weekend Nightly News. This person will play a key role in every aspect of the program: from story ideation, to overseeing production of pieces, to producing live programming in the control room. As the Senior Producer, you must be capable of running a control room and should be able to fill-in for the EP on occasion.Responsibilities:Oversee and manage production teams including producers, associate producers, researchers, and correspondents from story inception to airExecute the program from the control room by communicating with correspondents in the field, producers finishing pieces, and providing editorial support to the anchor and executive producerDevelop and craft original news of day and feature stories for the broadcast and on digitalGenerate story ideas and evaluate pitchesServe as leader/mentor in the Nightly newsroomSupervise direct reports
