Sr. Accountant

The Senior Accountant reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting.  This role will be responsible for assisting with accounting aspects of the business, and requires understanding of accounting and the ability to partner with the NBC News organization, as well as NBCUniversal’s various business units.ResponsibilitiesCoordination and/or preparation of monthly/quarterly close deliverablesMaintain and complete assigned Blackline account reconciliations, ensuring timely certification, proper backup, and resolution of reconciling itemsPrepare monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry  Assist controllership function and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controlsResearch ways of streamlining and standardizing processes within designated area of responsibilityAssist with adhoc requests and deliverables
