T&D Intern

Position Purpose: Our Operations and Engineering Intern will work closely with our skilled Staff at their project to learn and understand what is involved with the daily operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment facility. This internship serves as an introduction to the water/wastewater industry and explores potential career pathways in operations, engineering, and facility management. You will become part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving our community and protecting our environment.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: This internship position will provide hands-on experience in a water/wastewater environment and will involve working under the guidance of an experienced full-time employee (FTE).This internship is focused on our Transmission & Distribution Department, where you will gain hands-on learning and exposure to the fundamental business processes and procedures essential to that department's operations.This position involves laboratory, technical, maintenance, and groundskeeping work in the operation of a wastewater treatment facility. This position will also work with the Regional Engineer to discover the planning, development and execution of construction projects at a water/wastewater facility. This position also provides exposure to experienced operations leaders who will teach and provide knowledge about their specialized areas, broadening your understanding of how different functions contribute to overall facility success.Candidates with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team are encouraged to apply.Work Environment:Ability to work in a wastewater environment.Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant.Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.
