The Technical Director, Certification Audit North America is responsible for ensuring the Food Assurance operation in US and Canada is technically efficient, consistent, customer-focused and profitable.  The jobholder collaborates with Sales and Marketing, engages with the sales/commercial, service delivery and technical teams and assists in development of Food strategic plans and identification of key growth initiatives.Assist VP in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans.Ensure the technical operation and resources are equipped the deliver against key milestones and in accordance to customer KPIs and expectations.Identify key growth initiatives and technical capabilities based on the target food market sectors and services to growth the business revenue.Work closely with the Global Food Assurance team to translate global initiatives in the NAM market.Identify skill gaps and lead the training and mentoring of existing resource to upskill and support the recruitment of new technical or supporting resource. Expand the service offering beyond Certification Services and seeks opportunities to broaden the Business Enhancement capability into key areas such as Performance Assessments, Supply Chain Risk Management, Training, and Advisory Services. Maintain competence and audit credentials for agreed schemes by taking additional and/or refresher course(s), as necessary.Coordinate with the Key Account Specialists (KAS’s) and other operational functions to ensure audits are scheduled in a timely manner, and a high level of customer service is provided to the clients to expand the business.Support the team with Technical file reviews, certificate decisions, ensure auditors development, and approve calculations of audit time. Deliver Training and support training material development, for internal and external purposes in conformance with the SGS Global / Local procedures as needed. Partners with the Sales and Marketing teams to define and implement go -to-market strategies, SWOT analysis, competition, market segmentation and to help to develop a robust project pipeline acrossmultiple market segments. Provide technical advice to sales, marketing, operations, and management as required.Perform observation/witness audits as a part of SGS continuous qualification process. Ensure the NAM technical team adheres to SGS Global Procedures and closely follows Food specific procedures in line with internal and scheme owner requirements.Support and respond to client inquiries on all technical matters regarding SGS Knowledge certification /trainings for standards, helping to identify root-cause and solutions.Support the development of the systems, process, and procedures to effectively deliver the service. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies.Collaborate closely with the other business sectors and functional areas Directors to ensure an effective management of resources: client base, technical resources, and reputation in the marketplace to aggressively grow the business.Establish a winning collaborative culture that embraces change, risk taking, and innovative thinking. Maintain and develops knowledge and understanding of certification services, standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.Adheres to internal standards, policies, and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned.
