About the role:

IT Enterprise Architecture Engineers are responsible for overseeing all IT shared services infrastructure systems and networks. You will be anintegral part of the Information Technology organization reporting directly to the IT Manager help improveand communicate the maturity levels of infrastructure architecture, design, and support.

As part of INVIDI Technologies, you will plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. This role is also responsible for servers, telephone, data center, security systems and other electronic infrastructure.

Key responsibilities:
  • Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network and systems/server capacity meets existing and future requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for resource administration and appropriate use.
  • Practice infrastructure asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation
  • Plan, acquire and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization's infrastructure footprint.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on infrastructure products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
  • Manage planning for resource availability, capacity and scalability of all hardware, software, network, and communication systems
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software (responsible for on-site and off-site data centers)
  • Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, etc.
  • Installs, implements, configures, and monitors equipment and software/firmware for all components of the company LAN, WAN, storage and servers
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems
  • Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base
  • Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure
  • Assist with leading the ongoing development, testing, and execution of Information Technology disaster recovery objectives and expectations

You must have:
  • 10 + years working as a Senior Systems Engineer, Architecture Engineers, or relative work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. IT experience with increased responsibility of IT roles may substitute for a degree
  • 5 + years of project leadership/management experience; experience managing infrastructure deployments
  • In depth knowledge of IT infrastructure technology including servers, desktops, storage, networks, operating systems, platforms and configurations in particular VMWare, vSphere, Windows server 20XX datacenter edition +, Active Directory, SQL 20XX Server, Office 365, Windows 7 -10 Enterprise, backup, SAN, ISCSI.
  • Knowledge in supporting Collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise platforms, tools and software includingWebSphere, Apache, Load Balancers, Shell Scripting, Jenkins, Active Directory, IT Security, and Performance Tuning.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices
  • Network skills:
    • Switching (Capacity Planning & VLAN's)
    • Routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP)
    • WAN Technology (VPLS, VPN)
    • Voice Technologies (VoIP, SIP Trunking)
    • Large Scale Wireless Deployments
  • In-depth hands-on experience in Enterprise solutions including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform hosted server environments and Office 365 administration
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows
  • Demonstrable experience supporting CI/CD development environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with professionals in a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership skills, clear communicator, forward thinker, and problem solver
  • Experience with budgeting and cost management

It will be very good if you have experience in:
  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CISCO CCNA/CCNP and VMWare VCPX
  • Keen interest in and understanding of new technologies and how these can support the business strategy
  • Experience working in small-sized IT groups, fast-paced, multi-tasking, and multi-role efforts.
  • Knowledge of wired and wireless networking solutions such as Palo Alto Networks
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally infrequently
  • Vendor management: Knowledge of contemporary product vendors (e.g. Cisco)
  • Experience with IT planning: Planning for and fostering an R&D culture with results including harnessing shadow IT
  • Experience supporting ERP solutions

Physical requirements:
  • INVIDI is a conscious, clean, well-organized, and supportive office environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are normal
  • Ability to lift 50Lbs, or 22kg
  • Ability to work in server room and office environments
  • Must be able to work safely and maintain a safe working environment for others
  • Hours are typical 9-5; occasional on-call/after-hours work is likely - due to nature of IT work
  • Travel required between offices (as needed by project/issue)
