The provider and APN will be seeing patients at CBMC, NBIMC, Hoboken and Trinitas.Job Requirement:

Licensed Registered Nurse in the state or New Jersey.

Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New Jersey.

Masters prepared in Nursing from an accredited program

ACLS certified.

Office Hours M-F 9-530

Essential Functions

The Pediatric Surgical APN provides care and management for patients on the pediatric surgical service in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team with an increased level of accountability,

Coordinates care for complex, medically fragile patients,

A wide degree of patient care autonomy/latitude is expected,

Outpatient/Clinic responsibilities will also be included within the scope, including complex wound care, post-op follow up, history and physical exam, and surgical consultation,

Independence with some invasive procedures required-training will be provided,

The Pediatric Surgical APN also serves as clinical leader and educator for both medical and nursing staff, providing mentorship for both in-house resident physicians and RNs,

Schedule will be majority daytime hours and will include weekend and evening call,

Primary medical center location will be Newark Beth Israel with affiliated outpatient clinical locations,

Extended coverage to additional hospitals within the RWJBarnabas Health System and outpatient clinical sites will be determined at the discretion of the Medical Director of Pediatric Surgery, RWJBH Northern Region.
