  • You are in your element when you facilitate teams and leaders in agile methodologies, and continuously find opportunities to empower individuals in their roles, foster collective ownership, and unlock team performance
  • You are a coach and mediator, possessing multi-modal communication styles; you have the ability to deliver constructive feedback and you are not afraid to escalate impediments to leadership
  • You have creative ideas on how to engage everyone, are self-motivated to help the team reach their goals; willing to roll up your sleeves and execute alongside your peers
  • You do not feel the need to be the star of the show: the team's success is your success
  • You don't speak in platitudes and generalities. You advocate for specific interventions with the impact of those interventions in a clear and compelling way
  • You know how to balance what good looks like with the pragmatic realities of deadlines and constraints
  • You model the way and inspire others as an agile change champion; you are resilient, pragmatic, and empathetic
What You Will Do
  • Drive adoption of Agile processes and culture in the organization, focusing on ways of working, tools, and mindsets (can coach up to 4 teams, depending on complexity)
  • Coach and support the product owners, team members, and others in learning and living effective Agile practices, lead or facilitate Scrum ceremonies, and facilitate gradual team adoption and independence through transparency, retrospectives, interventions, and adaptation
  • Help drive the team to bring value forward by leveraging a wide variety of techniques including OKRs, MVP mindsets, test and learn, dark launches, and more.
  • Seek to deeply understand the business and technical context in which your teams operate so that you can help them understand what solutions are more valuable than others
  • Bring an ownership mindset to the solutions your teams are supporting, including technical solutions that are maintainable and scalable as well as robust business process ideas to aid swift and efficient adoption of changes
  • Shield the team from external interferences and ensure the team is fully functional and productive
  • Remove or escalate impediments (e.g., cultural barriers, logistic challenges, coordination with other teams) and foster close cooperation and communication across all team members to ensure the teams are functional and productive
  • Continuously seek to track and improve team velocity and performance by promoting joint accountability for results
  • Increase the overall agile maturity of the organization by nurturing agile practices and principles; instilling an Agile mindset in teams through conversations, coaching, and role-playing
  • Work with other members of the Agile practice to promote the company's agile culture, support defining and deployment of the Company's Agile playbook across the organization
We Are Looking For Foundational Skills:
  • Brings high-energy, passionate outlook of the role and can influence those around them with different techniques
  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable, effective workplace and enables conflict resolution
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, coaching and teaching agile methodologies to teams and leaders, explaining the reason behind ceremonies, and encouraging team members to rely on each other
Technical Skills:
  • Experience in Agile Development, with specific Agile Coaching experience, or scrum master experience
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices (e.g. XP, CI/CD, DevOps, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing)
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques: Scrum (backlog management, planning, retro, reviews), Kanban, integrating design thinking, defining MVPs and roadmaps
  • At least 2-3 successful launches using Scrum in role as Agile Coach, Product Owner or Scrum Master
  • At least 3 successful deliveries of Digital products with experience in software development
Education
  • Background in business, software, or operations
OR
  • Agile coach or other agile certifications (CSM, ICE-AC, ICP-ACC, PSM I, PSM II, SAFe)
