Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an Automation Engineer for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Jersey, NJ/Dallas, TX/Tampa, FL. W2 or Independent Corp. to Corp. Only Contract to Hire positions NOTE: All candidates presented must know that when hired for the role that they will be started out working remote initially due to COVID-19 with offices closed but that they must be expected to work onsite in the office once offices are reopen. Should be local to Dallas, TX, Tampa, FL, or Jersey City, NJ. Responsibilities :

  • Design and develop end to end automated solutions for a wide variety of databases, data integration, business intelligence products, processes, and capabilities
  • Identify manual processes that can be automated
  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing
  • Determine and document technical requirements of projects to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Provide out of the box and creative thinking to solve complex problems
  • Work closely with platform and application engineers and architects to develop new and enhance existing automation solutions
  • Work closely with Infrastructure teams during implementation of solutions
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance aspects of projects
  • Provide post-implementation production support as needed
  • Present and demo automation solutions to technical and business stakeholders
  • Leverage skills to develop proof of concepts for projects and when needed utilize programming and scripting techniques for complex situations
Required Skills :
  • 3 years experience developing end to end automation solutions
  • 5 years IT experience in software development and/or engineering
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong development and configuration experience with Chef
  • Strong application development experience with Python (Java, C is an additional benefit)
  • Unix and Shell Scripting experience
  • Experience with Groovy and HPOO is highly desired
  • Experience with Bitbucket, Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience Terraform is an added benefit
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Extensive application development experience with history designing, coding, implementing and supporting
  • Infrastructure/Operations-side automation solutions in a corporate environment.
  • Creative problem solver with excellent diagnostic abilities.
