The CAD Technician II will utilize Computer Aided Design software and hardware to provide support for sales designs, projects, update current jobs/projects, and create production in both electronic and hardcopy forms. The technician will produce drawings from project documents, functional mark ups and or conceptual sketches or verbal descriptions and specifications. This position is expected to perform at a highly efficient level and be able to work under minimum supervision. Responsibilities as CAD Technician II:- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
- Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD).
- Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
- Work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
- High School Diploma or equivalent certificate required.
- Two Year Associate Degree preferred.
- 3 to 5-year CAD experience, knowledge in low voltage systems pertaining to security and life safety systems preferred.
- Ability to work in all AutoCAD versions and be able to quickly adapt to new CAD standards and procedures.
- Strong background in customer service preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel required.
- Be able to create and maintain accurate drawings and documents in timely manner.
- Be able to read blue prints, drawing and specifications.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment on multiple assignments.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be a strong team player.
- Must be able to keep track of time worked on projects, and apply time towards each project worked to maintain utilization
- Coordinate filing, storage and retrieval of both manual and electronic drawings
- Support and operate associated plotters and printers
