Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityThe Human Health Research Services Platform (HHRSP) is hosted by the Liggins Institute and provides a comprehensive range of services to support human health research across the University of Auckland, including data services, statistical support, health economics, research coordination, follow-up research coordination, digital support, clinic space and nursing support.The HHRSP and the Liggins Institute are seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to join their world-leading research centre. The position is a fixed-term part-time (0.5 FTE / 18.75 hours per week) role until 30 April 2027 to provide parental leave cover.The responsibilities of the roles include:Acting as the main point of contact for the relevant studies and regularly communicating with the funders, sites, lead investigators, sponsor and key stakeholders, arranging and holding meetings as appropriateOversee study-related activities, including timelines, milestones and specific requirementsEnsure ethics and regulatory requirements are fulfilled and that all approvals and authorisations are securedSet up contracts, manage payments of sites, subcontractors, service providers etcWrite and submit progress/safety reports as and when required to ethics and regulatory bodies, funder, sponsor – as applicablePerform site monitoring visits at participating centres according to Standard Operating Procedures, ICH Good Clinical Practice and project-specific monitoring plansThe two studies are OPTIMISE and the PRRT Database, see below for details.  

 

OPTIMISE - This study aims to describe the experience of Māori receiving immunotherapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the NZ public health system, understand the clinical features and patterns of existing biomarkers in our own population, and measure the survival of Māori with advanced NSCLC referred to receive first-line immunotherapy to see if we are achieving the expected benefits published in the key evidence behind immunotherapy treatment. 

 

Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) Database - This study will establish Aotearoa’s first prospective and prospective database of NET patients recommended for PRRT, with a focus on treatment and clinical outcomes. The key objectives are focussed on: how data is brought into the database (piloting automated drawing of data fields from hospital systems); the database itself (governance and robust data field development); and how data and insights are extracted from the database (reporting PRRT outcomes from NZ patients, and development of an interactive data tool). For more information, please view the position description.He kōrero mōu | About youOur ideal candidates will:Have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant areaHave at least three years’ experience in a clinical trial/study environmentHave experience in ethics, regulatory requirements and ICH Good Clinical PracticeBe able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with multiple stakeholdersBe able to demonstrate being highly organised with exceptional attention to detailHave experience in motivating others, managing, and meeting deadlines.Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the teamThe Liggins Institute is a Large-Scale Research Institute at the University of Auckland.
