Job Description:The Google Cloud Platform

Lead Systems Cloud Programmer performs Public Cloud management and design. He/She will assist in the governance, automation, design, and implementation of Google Cloud Platform solutions. Must be fluent in DevOps and infrastructure as code. They will provide technical guidance to our application teams as well as ensuring our Google Cloud Platform environment is cost effective and secure.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Cost and Security
  • Engages application teams in remediation of security issues
  • Updates exiting cost and security dashboards as well as creates new ones
  • Develops and publishes guidelines on how to size cloud services
  • Experienced in micro segmentation
  • Understanding of security principles. Example: least privilege and zero trust
  • Fluent in the use of Security Command Center

Automation
  • Use Terraform and Ansible to automate the provisioning of infrastructure
  • Automates any reports needed to effectively run our cloud environments
  • Automation of monitoring and alerting
  • Use of Anthos gatekeeper and Anthos policy controller to create, automate, manage, and maintain GKE policies

General
  • Assist in the design and implementation of monitoring and alerting
  • Provides onboarding help to applications
  • Helps applications resolve cost and security recommendations
  • Keeps abreast of latest cloud changes
  • Write procedure and design documentation
  • Use of SharedVPC, Firewall rules and Interconnects
  • Use of VM Manager and MV Shield

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Have a least one certification in Google Cloud Platform. Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect is preferred
  • Experience with developing code and using source code repositories
  • Strong knowledge of YMAL, JSON, XML and Terraform providers
  • Strong understanding of the design and implementation of services like Apigee, GKE, Cloud Armor, Global Load balancers, Cloud Spanner, SharedVPC and micro segmentation
  • Disaster Recovery planning for PaaS environments
  • IaaS design and implementation within Google Cloud Platform
  • Knowledge and use of Google Cloud Platform operational tools. Example audit logs, flow logs, stack drive, log viewer and event triggers
  • IAM rules to control access and permissions, creations and management of service accounts and key management experience
  • Team player

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or the equivalent in education and work experience
