CNC PROGRAMMER / CNC MACHINIST (Full Time / Fully Benefited) MULTIPLE ROLES: 2 CNC Programmers, 3 CNC Machinist / Set-Up Machinist (Salaries from $60,000 to $125,000 based on position and experience)

MASTERCAM / Solidworks / AutoCAD Experience is preferred not required

Job Description: Works from blueprints, sketches, work orders, charts and verbal instructions to program, set up and operate various machine tools, work cells and/or CNC work centers to fabricate a wide array of component parts (standard, special, sample) of above average to complex variety. Performs advanced setup operations, adjusts and checks out programming and operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations. Needs broad knowledge of machining techniques and/or programming. This role will be responsible for managing the set up of complex lathe machining centers with multi spindles and turrets in an AS9100 machining facility. This role will be responsible for meeting allotted set up times to meet dynamic production and planning schedule.
  • Properly set tools in machine locations required for set-up & perform part changeover including program retrieval and input
  • Establish work offsets manually and utilizing probing technology
  • Read, understand, and reset CNC machine program codes
  • Calculate and input axis coordinates X, Y and Z or use spindle probe to determine work offsets
  • Utilize geometric dimensioning and tolerancing results to adjust work offsets
  • Operate, set up and program (MasterCam) CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings.
  • Propose new production set ups and change offsets/tooling in machines as part of the new setup.
  • Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different metals where very close tolerances must be maintained.
  • Read and evaluate blueprints or specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and solve CNC programs and processes.
  • Improve and produce work instructions.
  • Propose adjusted speeds and feeds for different machining requirements.
  • Redesign fixtures to increase quality standards and productivity.
  • Subject Matter Expert within field

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-year experience managing Engineering personnel and scheduling departmental workload
  • A minimum of 5-year experience as a lead machinist/setup engineer
  • Expert-level proficiency with reading and interpreting blueprints and model-based definitions
  • Extensive experience with conversational CNC programming
  • A comfortable working knowledge of CAM software, AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • A comfortable working knowledge of CMMs, comparators and other inspection gauges/instrumentation
