Your work will contribute to enabling the U.S. to uphold its leadership in innovation in science and engineering. You will develop and support communication and outreach campaigns, messaging, products, project timelines, and other tasks as needed.This is an opportunity to contribute to important communications projects from the beginning and all while building a great career at ICF! You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and communication needs happening in parallel. You’ll be a part of implementing the high-level communication strategy to streamline communication systems and projects as well as the development of the long-term communication plan.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and provide strategic communication plans, campaigns, and products and incorporate events into communications plans.
Oversee strategy, engagement, creative, and materials development and delivery.
Create email marketing campaigns and content to engage audiences, internal and external, with experience building stakeholder engagement campaigns.
Develop, coordinate, produce and maintain marketing and communication materials and provide creative direction to graphic design/creative teams to develop imagery to complement products.
Ability to define, refine, and maintain evaluation metrics, KPIs for communication and outreach plans, campaigns, and specific communication tasks.
Draft and edit a wide range of content to include technical and scientific content to writing short and catchy promotional content, well as collaborate with creative members to guide the development of imagery to accompany the content.
Assist in the promotion of events and webinars.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
10+ years of experience as a communicator and communications strategist, who has worked in fast-paced government agencies and preferably a research and development agency.
2+ years of experience and familiarity with the scientific and technological research and development community and stakeholders, including researchers, innovators, investors, and others.
Must be able to obtain or maintain a public trust.
Work must be performed within the US.
Professional Skills:
Strong technical writer and editor familiar with science/technology/innovation writing, such as reports on scientific findings and articles for internal and external audiences.
Experienced in developing communication plans, strategies, and project plans that include but are not limited to goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), key messages, stakeholders, and tactics.
Strong multitasker who can manage many tasks/projects with the federal communications team, and also with specific divisional and program staff.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, social media platforms (e.g. X, LinkedIn, Facebook), and Granicus GovDelivery (preferred).
