Customer Service Representative

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Customer Service Representative in the Roselle, New Jersey, area in the Food and Food Processing industry. The role involves supporting our sales team and providing excellent customer service, maintaining quality relations with existing accounts, and providing sales coverage and support. This position is 100% on-site.Responsibilities: Develop sales potential by providing high-quality customer service and maintaining a deep understanding of our products and services Process customer information efficiently and respond to inquiries and complaints in a diplomatic manner Contact customers regularly to meet and surpass sales goals Calculate prices, discounts, and proposals to meet specific customer requirements efficiently Stay updated on market conditions regarding products through available resources Use company leads to expand the current customer base and follow up all leads promptly Maintain organized, updated files on all assigned customers Complete and submit weekly customer activity reports on sales and backlog orders Analyze customer accounts and make prompt corrections or modifications to files Contact customers to obtain missing information to ensure an accurate customer database Train new Customer Service Representatives on the system as requested Enter appropriate information from customer orders on the computer and verify all order information for accuracy while entering into the system Provide backup for the receptionist on the phone system during breaks, lunch, or absence/vacation.Requirements Prior experience in a customer service role within the Food & Food Processing industry is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers effectively. Ability to handle customer queries and complaints, providing appropriate solutions in a timely manner. Proficiency in using customer service software, databases, and tools. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Strong analytical skills to evaluate customer service data and make process improvement recommendations. Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team goals. Willingness to work in shifts, during weekends, or holidays if necessary. Knowledge of the Food & Food Processing industry's standards and regulations. High school diploma or equivalent education level; a degree in a relevant field is a plus. Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
