Cyber Software Engineer

Applies computer science, cyber engineering, mathematics, and electrical engineering disciplines to the creation of new products and tools that identify, exploit, and protect against, cyber security vulnerabilities. Integrates new software features into existing complex software architectures. Performs vulnerability analysis and penetration testing of enterprise network systems and cyber security tools. Embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction of Zero days and CVEs. Provides engineering recommendations and relates existing systems to future needs and trends. Resolves integration and testing issues. May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.What You'll Get to Do:- Understand Cybersecurity: Work with a team of passionate, intelligent, and innovative software and cyber engineers to understand and identify current and future Cybersecurity needs and challenges.
- Cyber Innovation: Use prior experience and knowledge of reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and software development skills, in-depth research of network technologies and cyber tools and techniques to develop innovative solutions to address customer and industry needs.
- Design Cyber Solutions: Interact directly with customers to establish detailed requirements for cyber solutions that will ultimately bolster our nation's Cybersecurity posture.
- Provide technical leadership on vulnerability research tasks to identify and evaluate security strengths and weaknesses in real-time embedded and application software on network systems.
- Provide technical leadership on R&D tasks developing innovative security analysis tools and software hardening techniques.
- Perform reverse engineering tasks on Windows, Linux, mobile device, and embedded platforms running ARM/MIPS.
- Research solutions to challenging cyber security and computer networking problems.
- Become a subject matter expert in various network technologies and products (e.g. IP/MPLS, 4G/5G wireless, Optical Transport, etc.).
- Develop relationships with customers and cooperatively identify new approaches to address customer needs.
- Obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the duties of the position
- Demonstrated competency with reverse engineering tools e.g. Ghidra, Radare, IDApro, Ollydbg, gdb
- Ethical hacking skills.
- Demonstrated competency with multiple assembly languages, including: ARM, MIPS, x86 and PowerPC
- Experience with Linux operating systems at all layers (boot, kernel space, user space).
- Demonstrated ability to identify vulnerabilities in complex software system platforms beyond basic Linux and Windows platforms.
- Experience with software development of embedded systems.
- Understanding of networking concepts in routed, mobile, and optical networks.
- An active TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and current and emerging network technologies (IP and Wireless networking, and Optical Transport technologies preferred).
- Demonstrated competency with IoT and Industrial Control Systems.
