Job Description: The Data Architect will showcase and utilize experience to assist with the transformation creating positive outcomes.

  • Build and lead a Data practice to help drive legacy modernization, cloud enablement, client & partner data exchange capabilities, and operational efficiency solutions to evolve our systems of interaction, systems of integration and systems of records.
  • Develop International Data Architecture framework including blueprints, solutions, principles, design patterns and standards as well as coach, train, and develop other technical staff on data best practices and solutions.
  • Architect and facilitate implementing the Data Lake model that can be used across countries for reporting, visualization, analytics and machine learning.
  • Lead and influence Data initiative discussions and decisions with key stakeholders including local country IT teams, Technology Teams, Enterprise Architecture groups, Cloud Enablement Partners, and service providers.
  • Leverage experience and perform appropriate due diligence to make well informed build or buy decisions for Data management platform capabilities in our rapidly growing and evolving environment considering speed to market and customer needs in mind to deliver business outcomes.
  • Assist in the development and maintain a metadata management and repository strategy to manage all enterprise information architecture project artifacts.
  • Collaborate, co-create and develop relationships with business, technology and enterprise teams across the organization by partnering, sharing and leveraging best practices and solutions.
  • Work with and foster an "outcome-based" mindset where outcomes are well-defined, understood, actionable, and measurable.
  • Mentor and guide peers and junior talent to help create a pool of technically strong subject matter experts and improve talent in the company.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated technology leadership experience implementing large scale data management and exchange projects with at least 7 years of experience as a Data Architect or deep involvement in Applications and Integrations Architecture.
  • Must possess an engineering mind-set and have experience with Operational Data Stores, Enterprise Data Warehousing, Data Marts and iPaaS products.
  • Strong design and implementation background enabling data exchange with customer facing Web and Mobile applications.
  • 5+ years proven experience architecting solutions related to distributed applications, monolithic solutions, legacy databases (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
  • 2-3 years of implementing unstructured data solutions (Hadoop or equivalent products) data streaming capabilities (Kafka or similar) and unstructured data cloud-based solutions (i.e. AWS - RDS).
  • Deep knowledge of on-premise and cloud data security patterns and standards.
  • Proven experience driving legacy modernization including decomposition and modularization of monolithic platforms.
  • Experience delivering Data evolution roadmaps and technology blueprints for large programs and transformations.
  • Experience in leveraging data for machine learning, artificial intelligence and cognitive computing use cases.
  • Solid understanding of reporting capabilities and knowledge of reporting products (Cognos, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in facilitating and working with data analytics teams.
  • Solid understanding of the full application development life cycle and practical operations support experience.
  • Demonstrated success in working in an Agile, Waterfall and hybrid environments.
  • Experience in leading or collaborating with teams of architects and/or developers.
  • Successful track record in leading and implementing across cross-functional teams to deliver on project outcomes.
  • Business and technical background in the Financial Services or Employee Benefits industry is a plus.
  • International experience is highly desirable; ability to travel up to 25% to the PII countries.
  • Ability to lead and influence small to large teams of technical experts is required.
  • Experience interfacing with senior leaders in the organization and fluency in simplifying technical complexities required.
  • Strong communication, presentation and articulation skills is needed.
