This role is hybrid based and only requires 3 days per month in an office. We are looking for a Data Engineer/Analyst to join our team. This role requires the design, development and implementation of data solutions to solve business and technical requirements. The individual will be expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The individual will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure data design and delivery is consistent for business and technical efforts. They will also be required to a nalyze sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements and solutions. The individual will help identify, design and implement internal process improvements for greater scalability and optimizing data delivery. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. Key Duties and Responsibilities- Working with stakeholders to support their data infrastructure needs while assisting with data-related technical design efforts
- Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
- Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
- Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using SQL technologies
- Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics including operational efficiency and customer acquisition
- Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field
- 1-3 years of experience working with writing SQL and working with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle
- Ability to write DDL/DML/DQL (any RDBMS) queries.
- Knowlegde of database objects (entities, attributes, constraints, relationships, joins, etc.) and relational database design (normalization, etc.)
- Good technical presentation & delivery skills.
- Exposure to any programming language (C, C, VB, Python, R, etc.)
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with other relational databases, BI reporting and data discovery tools
- Great numerical and analytical skills
- Plus: Experience with cloud-based data technologies.
- Plus: Experience in the financial services industry
- Plus: Working experience in Agile Scrum environments
- Plus: Experience with source control tools such as Git, SVN and TFS.
