The RoleThe Data Visualization Specialist role is part of our Health & Benefits Informatics Team. You will work with the business on how to turn data science and analytics into highly compelling and easy-to-use data visualization solutions for our end users with the goal of improving actionable insights. Our primary tool for data visualization is Power BI; however, this role will work closely with data management to develop creative and new ways to interface information with end users through web and/or application based workflows. Ultimately, you will be creating both functional and insightful solutions that elevate our ability to deliver leading edge solutions to our clients.This role will be responsible for the following:Ensure visualizations meet the needs of the business through collaboration

Understand the current and future state of business requirements and tool capabilities

Understand the current and future state of modern Data Warehousing tools (visualizations / reporting)

Work collaboratively to design and develop visualizations and/or reports in a dynamic global environment

Use analytical and problem-solving skills to take a complex business request and transform it into a clean, simple data solution.

Educate less technical users on complex concepts, tailored to the audience.

Create and improve reports that give business leaders and their teams consistent and reliable insights to help identify issues and to work with clients to improve them

Deliver on ad-hoc data requests from business users while building reports and dashboards to help reduce the need for these requests

Compile data from a variety of sources including Excel and SQL Server

Identify additional data sets that can drive strategy, improve decision making, and automate

Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing Business Intelligence visualizations / reports using Power BI Report server and Power BI Cloud

Knowledge of database and data warehousing concepts (SQL Server)

Proficiency in SQL

Experience with healthcare or health insurance-related data preferred

Proven implementation and problem-solving experience

Information Analysis, Analytics Design & Development

Relationship management and communication skills

Ability to work closely with Business/Users

Business acumen and stakeholder management skills

Solid communication and inter-personal skills

Ability to illicit requirements for visualization and reporting needs
