JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition is open to Headquarters in NJ, Addison, TX or Dallas TX.Also willing to consider fully remote for the right expertiseFinally if a person converts for this role the salary would be around 125K. Azure SQL experience preferred. Experience in the installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server. Experience in database administration, database monitoring and tuning, and physical database development. Understands the principles, theories, practices and techniques of SQL Server database administration. Extensive experience managing multiple MS SQL 2005/2008/2012/2014 servers on enterprise-class server clusters running Windows 2003/2008/2012. Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. Experience with T-SQL, DTS, SSIS and stored procedures.The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the standard Azure database environment in the corporate, plant and sales locations. This includes but is not limited to servers, storage, backup devices, operating system and server based applications. The Systems Engineer working as part of the Infrastructure and Operations team is primarily responsible for supporting the on premise database services and cloud based environments while the Systems Engineers working in the Implementation team are responsible for deployment, project, and application support.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the standard Database environment in the corporate, plant and sales locations.Provides technical support and direction to the support team members and plant personnel on computer infrastructure.Interfaces with internal IT and plant personnel, to provide technical assistance for the implementation of various technologies within Headquarters and plant database environments.Develops a working relationship with outside vendors and technical organizations that can provide insights and information concerning technological trends.Participation in team meetings.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, 5 years of IT experience, or Associate's Degree from a Technical Institution5+ years of IT and business/industry work experience5+ years of SQL Server experience, Azure SQL PaaS and IaaS experience would be a plusHands-on skills in public clouds (ideally Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform)Technical knowledge/skills:Database operations/administrationServer Hardware and Storage HardwareGood knowledge of Virtualization and storage technologiesServer SoftwareGood knowledge and execution of IT Standards, Policies and ProceduresGood knowledge of Information Security AwarenessGood knowledge of Project Implementation Methodology such as agile and waterfall.Good knowledge of Systems, Applications, & TechnologiesGeneral knowledge/skills:Excellent analytical and communication skillsAbility to interface with internal customers at all levels of the organizationGood ability to MultitaskGood skills in PrioritizingGood Analysis & Problem Solving SkillsDeveloping AdaptabilityLeadership/Supervision:Regular supervision and oversight requiredAdherence to performance review and goal setting processProactively working with manager to identify training needs to expand and improve skillsProvide on-the-job training/support to new/other team membersProactively seeks guidance from other team members when needed.Developing ability to apply feedback received to day-to-day work and strives to improve performanceWe are taking a responsible approach to creating environments that allow us to do what we do best – Protect what matters most.As part of our commitment to health and safety, COVID-19 vaccines are required for all candidates and employees in this position.
