Digital Asset Management Librarian

Responsibilities
  • Create and assign appropriate metadata and taxonomy to digital content assets based on approved guidelines
  • Maintain relevant naming conventions, metadata and content rights information
  • Manage internal/external access to the organization’s content allocating permissions and special requests to approved users
  • Collect and upload new assets into the system
  • Review and approve or reject assets from all contributors, including internal users as well as external users such as agencies and partners
  • Assess stock photography purchases for on brand compliance
  • Assist in documenting guiding principles, user requirements and related media data workflows
  • Maintain records of licenses, releases and expiration dates of all digital assets
  • Perform digital archiving, asset expiration and other aspects of digital asset lifecycle maintenance
  • Collaborate with other functions/sectors to ensure digital content assets are on brand and of appropriate quality for submission
  • Follow the archiving rules to ensure maximization of storage space and effective practices for data retrieval
  • Support in the retrieval of previously catalogued digital content assets
  • Conduct an asset audit by checking metadata and branding on assets to determine adherence to guidelines
  • Support management of the brand mailbox
  • Train users how to search the database, troubleshoot software issues and work with IT to test new updates to the software as well as find bugs and report those to the vendo
  • Continuously optimize DAM, so it remains an effective tool

    Skills:
    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree
    • A minimum 4 years of work experience preferably in a similar role and/or similar responsibilities
    • Strong knowledge of DAM systems, metadata standards, databases, and rights management
    • Strong knowledge and experience with asset taxonomy
    • Familiarity with data governance principles
    • Creative problem solver and can communicate with all types of people in different roles (IT, brand managers, senior leadership, sales, etc.)
    • Meticulous planner and an effective communicator with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • Experience in UI/UX design
    • Travel between New York and New Jersey offices when needed
