Why You'll Love This Job: The Senior Principal Database Engineer is an SME for DTCC's data warehouse and is responsible for providing technical and thought leadership in selection, design, implementation and integration of best of breed products in DTCC's data warehouse ecosystem. Is a champion for the adoption of data warehouse best practices across the organization through strong partnership with technology leaders across the firm. Your Responsibilities: - Provides leadership for the overall architecture, engineering, design, development, implementation, and support of data management and information exchange on enterprise warehouse environment
- Researches and evaluates broad emerging technology trends and how they impact the technology direction of the organization
- Guides design, development, and operations for data pipelines, data marts, operational data stores and data integration both on prem and on cloud
- Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale, while improving internal engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs
Talents Needed for Success: - 10+ years of hands-on experience in data warehouse; 5+ years' experience with Snowflake.
- Expertise in Data Engineering capabilities and governance best practices and implementation.
- Deep hands-on expertise in various products and services in the cloud data warehouse ecosystem (e.g., Data Catalog, Data Quality, ETL/ELT, Reporting & Analytics tools)
- Strong automation skills involving Jenkins, terraforms etc.
- Familiarity with database security and access management principles.
- Competencies to build very strong partnerships with other technology leaders that enable DTCC to stay on the leading edge of industry solutions
- Strong engineering and technology background and DevOps mindset with the ability to learn quickly and go deep into our product and engineering solutions
- In depth knowledge of private cloud and public cloud infrastructure ecosystem
- Skilled with leading troubleshooting & root cause analysis

A key construct of EP&PE will be the evolution of the IT Product Manager, who will partner with the Engineering organization, the Business Aligned Service Delivery organization, the DevSecOps organization as well as our operational support teams to ensure that this organization provides high quality, commercially attractive and timely solutions to support our business strategy.
