Description: Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer Job Location: Camden, NJ Job Description: Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the Embedded Software Engineer plays a key role in developing innovative software components for our next generation key management cyber products, to support L3Harris Cyber Solution Centers. Essential Functions:
Support the engineering team as an embedded software application developer and tester
Investigate root cause of complex issues, and implement solutions, working independently or with a multi-discipline team
Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware
Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal test
Develop software test plans and procedures, and other relevant technical documentation
Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and evaluate results
Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
Utilize a variety of software languages (primarily C/C), in Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, Green Hills Integrity, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)
Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship with a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
2 - 4 years of experience developing and debugging embedded software applications in C/C
Usage of a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or similar
Preferred Additional Skills:
Object-oriented design and implementation experience, with exposure to software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo
Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real time embedded systems
Experience with key management, cryptography and cryptographic applications, security architecture, multi-level and cross domain security solutions, and certification requirements
Hardware / Software Integration experience
Experience with static analysis, code coverage tools, and automated test frameworks
Knowledge of network architectures and protocols
Knowledge of communication and security related protocols (including but not limited to UDP, TCP, RTP, SRTP, VoIP, X.509 and SSL/TLS)
Knowledge of implementing endian agnostic code to support different architectures (PPC, ARM)
Intermediate to advanced experience with modern C 11/14 (smart pointers, containers, maps), and heavy use of abstract classes with pure virtual method
