The Opportunity:We are currently searching for an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for supporting a multi-disciplined team developing product specifications, generating concepts, building and testing prototypes, and creating parts for device systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for being part of a team developing medical technologies that improve people’s lives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review design specifications and requirements under direction, develop designs to best support them including cost and quality as a key design variables
  • Assist in the evaluation and troubleshooting of products
  • Develop bill of materials, routers, and costing analysis, as needed
  • Develop and review, under direction, design control drawings and CAD models
  • Design and develop fixturing for test and assembly
  • Update engineering manager with regular reporting of progress and status

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ of industry experience in design, development, and testing of medical devices
  • Experience with SolidWorks software to design, evaluate, and document products
  • Experience working with various manufacturing and material processes of medical devices (Injection Mold, Die Cast, Sheet Metal, thermoforming, rapid prototyping, etc.)

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to read drawings and technical documentation
  • Ability to design, build and assemble test fixtures
  • Good understanding of electromechanical parts and assemblies
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with multiple simultaneous design projects
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
