Field Technician - Open Pit

OceanaGold's Macraes Mine is seeking Field Technicians to join the Open Pit exploration team. The ideal candidate will be a team player who collaborates with colleagues, in alignment with OceanaGold’s Purpose, Vision and Values. Macraes is the largest mining operation in New Zealand, and these positions have true opportunity to progress long-term. They would suit recent graduates, or anyone looking to gain experience in a large-scale mining operation.You will provide important support to our Open Pit mining team by collecting representative ore samples and demonstrating sound health and safety practices, while learning about a key aspect of the gold mining process. This role involves working outdoors in all weather and can be quite physical with regular lifting of 5 – 10kg samples. On-the-job support and mentoring go hand in hand with the experience you will bring to this field-based role. 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off, 12hr shift rosterKey tasks and responsibilities:Following set processes to collect samples from drill rigsCommunicating any issues relating to the quality of the samplesAssisting with housekeeping and maintenance of storage facilitiesData entry and administrationEnsuring all incidents and hazards are reported
