nullLead a team of Manufacturing Engineering Supervisors / Engineers in:

Lead Stamping, Body, Paint and Final teams onsite thru all program milestones (DCV, LR, TT, PP, OKTB)

Coordinate Manufacturing Readiness / scorecard deliverables through gateways (VTTO DCV, TCB, PCF, EOL for TT, PP, MP1)

Work closely with CPE/Program Management, New Models, Plant Launch Manager for alignment on build events (color launch, body build plan, final build)

Ensure all aspects of the program are delivered within cost, delivery, and safety.

Develop Design and Build Scopes of Work associated with Tooling and Equipment along with Installation Scopes of Work.

Working closely with VME Core Team’s, Assembly Plant & Suppliers for Tooling and Equipment Buyoff, Installs and Commissioning.

Lead the development of a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of Tooling and Facility projects.

Collaborate with Process Engineers and Product Development Team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements

Develop and foster working relationships with new and existing tooling vendors to develop new processes/equipment and to continuously improve the equipment we have already deployed.

Use virtual tools to evaluate tooling feasibility of new model designs for assembly operations

Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Stamping, Body, Paint and Final Assembly Engineering feasibility issues

Support Program Cost Studies and work with cross functional teams within the organization to ensure proper Tooling is included and a plan for implementation.

Drive System Integration Efficiencies into new models to reduce Labor and Part counts.

Work with counterparts in PD to quickly resolve product design and assembly tooling issues.

Support launch coordination meetings: AIMS, DEMS, Whiteboard, Scorecard, etc.

Incorporate new technologies and automation into the tooling development to improve delivery and quality.

Work with upfront Process Strategies Team to incorporate new standard assembly tooling and facilities to accommodate new technologies or efficiency improvements

Drive labor efficiency and complexity reduction where possible during the launch review of new product content / features development.

Support builds/installations onsite

Use Plant High Hurts to predict and mitigate Launch risks in Forward Model Development

Support GMR standard & equipment updates / migration plan through closed loop lesson learned process.

Review "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs

Interface with cross-functional activities (Program Implementation Teams, Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs)

Teach, coach, and develop training plans for all employees.

Support the PDC process including quarterly check-in’s are completed.

Position Requirements:

B.S. degree required

Masters preferred

10 years+ experience in Manufacturing

One major program Launch (UP / UN > 4) as LL6 Leader or discipline equivalent

Working knowledge of MDQOS deliverables such as tooling development, LQOS, DPA5, GSPAS/VPS, APT, Teamcenter, PFMEA, SCCAFs, Error Proofing Principles, GMRs/Health Charts, and VOSS

Understanding of relationships between VME, New Models, Program Management and Operations through Launch of a vehicle

Knowledge and/or experience within other VME/MP&L/Operations

Strong evidence of a commitment to technical growth through formal and continuing education

Six Sigma Greenbelt required, Black Belt preferred.

Leadership communication skills consistent with reporting out to Director and VP level leadership

Willingness to Travel for extended periods of time
