General Laborer - Warehouse

General Warehouse position available in Newark NJHours: 7a-7pPay $20-23hrParking available

Knowledge of the procedures, equipment, and tools used in doing unskilled manual work involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and grounds, in the handling of goods and materials, and in simple office work.

Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions.

Ability to learn from explanations and from demonstrations.

Ability to learn to do simple construction, maintenance, and repair work on buildings and grounds.

Ability to load and unload trucks and cars and to assist in a stockroom by doing varied manual tasks.

Ability to do unskilled office work, to carry messages, and to deliver packages.

Ability to keep simple records.

Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.

Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.

Assists or works alone in unskilled manual work involving construction, maintenance, repair, and painting of buildings and grounds.

Operates equipment and tools necessary to perform duties.

Assists in loading and unloading cars and trucks.

Acts as messenger.

May assist with simple stock and clerical work.

Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
