Overview Masters Data Technology team with Architecture and Data Science Division is at the forefront of building BNY Strategic Reference Data Platforms Initial Focus on the initiative is to stand up Client, Account, Product, Reference and Security Master The Masters Technology team is looking for a motivated individual with hands on experience in building enterprise wide technology solutions. Candidate is expected to be operating under the guidance of Tech Delivery Manager however is expected to be self-starter and operate with an ownership mentality. Candidate will be, in due course, over-seeing a small team of contractors. He/ She is expected to mentor summer interns and junior developers and grow over next few years. Candidate must aware of Agile Software Delivery Practice. The Master Data Management team within BNY Mellon-s Architecture and Data Team is looking for a candidate with strong data and business analysis expertise. The candidate will be working to build out core capabilities in the enterprise wide masters to enhance firm wide adoption and usage. This includes gathering and analysing information, evaluating business systems and user needs, documenting requirements, and communicating specifications to business and technical users. Manages a medium to large-sized or multiple small teams responsible for the planning, design and development of the corporate information bank. Manages analysis of application data requirements for new and enhanced data processing applications and the development of conceptual and logical models of the data as a prerequisite for physical database design. Coordinates the logical design of databases to promote data sharing and to reduce redundant data processes within the corporation. Directs and provides guidance on the analysis and design of data models and logical databases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models. Manages the development of logical database designs across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed systems, Web, e-commerce). Seeks opportunities to promote data sharing, and to reduce redundant data processes within the corporation by identifying common structures across application areas. Defines, maintains, and enforces the use of standard naming conventions, and ensures that meta data captured in logical design phase is documented. Provides comprehensive consulting to client and IT management and staff in the identification and resolution of information flow and content issues. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages one or more data modeling/warehousing teams. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.

Minimum Requirements
  • Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 10+ years of experience in all phases of data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, data entity analysis, logical database design and relational database definition, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Solid financial services background (experience working with different lines of businesses including but not limited to: asset servicing, corporate trust, treasury services, investment management and broker dealer business)
  • Constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities and writing specifications
  • Running complex SQL queries
  • Data analysis and compiling reports
  • Translating business requirements to functional requirements
  • Excellent documentation skills (meeting minutes, status updates, current and target state documentation)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on client and account projects (including but not limited to Customer Relationship Management programs, Client Onboarding, Account Processing, Client Life Cycle Management)
  • Knowledge of BNY legacy systems, businesses, and current account and client processing within each line of business
  • Product expertise (Derivatives, FX, Equities, Collateral)
  • Experience working on process improvement projects and build out of enterprise wide masters/systems
  • UX/UI experience- creating mock-ups, wire frames, drafting business requirements for new systems
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Knowledge/Experience with transmission protocols: SFTP, NDM Connect Direct
  • Experience developing software in a regulated business environment
  • Experience working and delivering solutions across a multi-location team
