Help Desk Support

I have a long term contract opportunity for one of our pharmaceutical clients looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer. This role is 90% remote with occasional travel to the Princeton NJ office. Please see the job description below and let me know if you are interested. Responsibilities:

• Plan, acquire and coordinate installation of in-house hardware and software across the organization.
• Recommend desktop, laptop, and ancillary equipment
• Maintain and steward a budget for desktop, laptop, and ancillary equipment assigned by Director, IT Infrastructure
• Analyze processes to utilize, design, implement, troubleshoot, improve, and maintain technology strategies, desktops, laptops, and ancillary equipment to meet business needs and improve client interaction
• Recommend policies and procedures that pertain to desktop, laptop, and ancillary equipment utilization and IT Security
• Research, evaluate, test, and recommend software applications
• Advise staff on technology and IT security issues and planning
• Evaluate, plan, test, and implement desktop and laptop system security and auditing
• Educate and promote knowledge sharing / cross training within the infrastructure team
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated plans for network resource administration and appropriate use
• Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
• Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on
• Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems
• Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure
• Other duties as assigned

• Solid experience in Information Technology including: IT Support, Desktop, Exposure to Cisco Routers & Switches, Firewalls
• Certifications a Plus: MCSE, MCSA, CCNP, CISSP, GSEC
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Desktop Cloning/Imaging, Networking theory and concepts, Backup and Recovery methods, Active Directory, Office 365, Server and Desktop Virtualization, SAN technologies, Cloud Storage, SDWAN technologies, and VOIP Telecommunications
