Housekeeping Team Leader

You are at the heart of the hotel! As a Housekeeping Team Leader, you will take ownership of guest rooms, ensuring that our guests are provided with a clean, comfortable space, and be a part of creating a memorable experience for them.The Housekeeping Department operates as a shared (hubbed) function across both Novotel Wellington and ibis Wellington, which are located a short distance from each other. We have two positions available, one is primarily based Novotel Wellington, you may be rostered to support operations at ibis Wellington as required. The other is based at Ibis though you may be rostered to support operations at Novotel Wellington as required. This structure allows our team to work collaboratively across both properties and provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in two well-established hotels.We have two part-time positions (minimum of 24 hours per week) working on a rotating 7-day roster, with a wage of $27.68 per hourYour duties will include:Prepare the morning reports showing occupied, vacant, check outs and out of order rooms for the Housekeeping Department as requiredAssist the Head of Department and supervisors with the productivity, motivation and development of all line Team Members within the Housekeeping departmentAssist in the daily cleaning, checking of rooms and the staff/public areas to maintain standardsTake initiative to add a personalised experience for the guestTake ownership of guests’ privacy and belongings, while ensuring exceptional serviceAssist with allocation of guest roomsTraining new hires as and when requiredHand-on approach to assisting Room Attendants and Public Areas AttendantAssist guests with all enquiries and complaints and provide accurate information to guests about property facilities and featuresBe trusted to follow correct procedures for all lost property items and ensure housekeeping team members are aware of procedureEnsure all team members (and self) handles all amenities, chemicals and equipment according to specific instructions and Workplace Health & Safety standardsEnsure all Team Members are fully trained in property fire & emergency procedures and all fire wardens attend training as required
