- Familiarity with regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., SOX, PCI requirements) and with ISO17799 security standards
- Knowledge of and implementation experience with security technologies and architecture, including but not limited to, encryption, network security, firewall configuration, two factor authentication, PKI and intrusion detection
- Knowledge of application development life cycle models and issues, especially pertaining to security components
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information security industry trends and emerging technologies, and an ability to relate them to the company and its objectives.
- Experience with vulnerability management, including testing, scanning, and patching
- Experience conducting and mitigating security/risk assessments
- Intimate knowledge of Unix and MS Windows environments.
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory. LDAP knowledge a plus
- Good understanding of a programming language (e.g. C, Perl), HTML/XML and Unix “shells” scripting (e.g. CSH, KSH, SH).
- Working knowledge of performance monitoring software (e.g. OpenView, Big Brother, BMC Patrol)
- Spoken skills. Fluency in English.
- Presentation skills/size of audiences. Ability to present project status and implementation of new technology to project teams and IT management.
- Writing skills. Fluency in English. Ability to create documentation with little or no assistance.
- Reading skills. Fluency in English.
- Foreign language skills. N/A
- Frequent interaction with technology suppliers and industry experts. Must be able to clearly articulate requirements, deliverables, assumptions and other information related to projects and formal project management.
- Ability to work with technical software, hardware, and network vendors in evaluating and implementing complex secure environments.
- Will be required to express ideas and thoughts in writing, verbally and thru presentation to senior executives, peers, and junior level staff
- Contact and support of internal clients customers utilizing IT technology, infrastructure, hardware, and network services.
- Contact with Members, Customers, and Partners in providing technical services and support where necessary.
- Must proactively leverage information resources and service and identify industry leading experts and best practices to facilitate the ongoing development and evolution of security services.
- Ability to design and evolve viable security solutions for the envisioned world-wide clients technical infrastructure.
- Capable of handling complex changes and support of these systems and security in a real-time environment.
- At times, must solve problems with little assistance. Must be motivated and capable of handling problems until resolved within accepted time tolerances. The successful candidate is self-motivated, enthusiastic and must posses a self-directed work style.
- Active member of at least one of the leading security service trade organizations.
