Our client, a well-established mid-sized bank based in New Jersey, is looking for a permanent IT Operational Risk Management Specialist. Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you will be a key and visible person working on very interesting risk technology initiatives for the firm. To be successful in this role you must have an IT background and experience working at a bank or consulting for a bank client. Knowledge of how IT works within a bank is crucial. - Salary: 120k-160k base
- Act as an internal consultant from an IT Risk perspective for all major IT initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Operational Risk Framework to effectively manage the operational risk profile of the bank.
- Responsible for the risk assessments for specific business lines and support functions, monitoring all associated issues and events.
- Provide reporting to upper management and board.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience managing an operational risk or audit function at a bank or financial services company.
- Experience using a Risk System (GRC) such as Logic Manger, Metric Stream, RSA Archer, etc. is preferred.
- Experience in developing Operational Risk Frameworks that fit within an Enterprise Risk Management Framework with a proven ability of working with senior business leaders to deploy risk frameworks in the business.
- Experience managing a GRC system to support and improve efficiencies in managing the operational risk profile of the Bank.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the various functions of a commercial bank (including consumer / commercial lending, wealth management, investments, operations, etc.).
- Experience in reporting to Board and Senior Management level committees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use communication skills to effectively manage correspondence with all levels of bank staff, senior and executive management, and representatives of outside organizations.
- Ability to effectively respond to shifting priorities and assignments.
- Proficient PC skills for Microsoft Office Power BI, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Developed analytical skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
- Well organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to meet deadlines and expectations with little or no supervision.
