Job Role: java developer Location: Jersey City, New Jersey 07310 (hybrid)Duration: 12 months Skills:Expert in JAVA development in Linux environment: 10 plus years of experience.Expert in SQL development and RDBMS: 10 plus years of experienceKnowledge of Oracle, Tibco EMS, Apache Kafka, Elastic Search, Docker, OpenShift or related technologies is a plusStrong knowledge of the FpML standards is preferredStrong working knowledge of message oriented or event driven multi-threaded services with an emphasis on throughput and latency.Strong oral or written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussionsQuickly grasp or master new requirements and related knowledgeManage tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changesAbility to learn or understand technical implications of system designWillingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answersAbility to work independently, multi-task, take ownership and drive strategyStrong analytical or problem-solving skills Job Description: Client’s OTC Clearing platform is the #1 OTC Clearing platform in the world.The OTC Clearing program is intended to build the core backbone for the OTC real time clearing technology, covering Trade STP (e.g. trade flow management, allocations, clearing, booking) and static and semi-static reference data for the OTC business, as well as the MIS/CRM capabilities needed to run the business.A major ongoing initiative is to build out the clearing platform with a scalable and resilient architecture to support high trading volumes and new business requirements.Key Responsibilities:Backend core java development on a distributed and message-oriented OTC post trade processing and clearing systemAssist in the global rollout of the OTC Clearing platformWorking with developers and analysts in New York and Pune teams.Level 3 support for production issuesStrong adherence to development standards and principles.Participate in requirements analysis and prioritization by working closely with PM, BA and product development teams.Liaise with Primary Support staff to ensure successful operation of functionality post releaseApplying an understanding of Futures and OTC financial products to the full development lifecycleOwnership of relationships with internal teams supplying some of the technology or solutions for FuturesKnowledge or Experience:Proven track record of complex, real-time, multi-tier solution development.Experience on Middle office STP platformsDetailed level knowledge (product or contract level) in Futures, Equities or Fixed Income markets.In-depth knowledge and experience of the OTC business from Trading through to Settlement and Clearing a plus.Has evidence of commitment to process improvement and client serviceMust be able to understand user requirements and provide roadmaps and plans to achieve desired solutions.
