Junior Architect

JUNIOR ARCHITECT -

We are an established firm in Northern New Jersey currently seeking to fill an in-house Junior Architect position. We provide a wide range of design and construction phase services to our many Public and Private clients who continually depend on us for our comprehensive design solutions and personalized professional attention. The office is currently developing and designing projects for new construction, renovations and alterations to various Public Facilities, Medical Facilities and many other commercial and residential clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Meet with owners and other team members of a project to help establish and understand the scope of the work needed.

Field measure and photo document all existing conditions of an existing site or building for creation of base drawings on office CAD system.

Collaborate with various other team members on a project including consultant engineers and client representatives.

Manage all electronic files and hard copies of documents for each phase of the project.

Compile documents to adequately express schematic and preliminary design ideas including modeling or rendering.

Further develop all details and plans related to final construction documents.

Coordinate architectural documents with all other related engineering trades and consultants on the team.

Consult with owner on scope of work on a particular project to confirm compliance with owner’s space and cost needs.

Assist with compiling all related legal specifications and material specifications applicable to the project.

Assist with replying to any questions by contractors during bidding and construction.

Attendance at construction phase meetings to resolve field issues and write minutes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop, MS Office, Word and Excel.

Proficiency in modeling software, i.e. Sketch-up.

Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple aspects of a project.

Ability to work on a team and meet deadlines efficiently.

Equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and minimum of seven years related experience in other Architectural offices.

Ability to provide own transportation to various projects sites
