The primary function of the Market Risk group is to protect the safety and soundness of the markets in the areas of clearance and settlement in the DTCC complex. The Market & Liquidity Risk group within Financial Risk Management is responsible for assessing and managing risks associated with the products and services provided by the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation ("FICC"), National Securities Clearing Corporation (\"NSCC\") and The Depository Trust Company ("DTC").

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to Market & Liquidity Risk's Default Management team initiatives as needed.
  • Perform day-to-day functions contained in the unit's procedures such as researching significant increases in margin requirements, tracking trading patterns of member firms, liquidity usage, etc.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' business and risk profiles and be prepared to serve as a point of contact for risk related support and inquiries.
  • Assess existing processes and suggest new ones that most effectively anticipate, manage, and reduce risk to DTCC and its participants.
  • Execute the plan for implementation of new margining methodologies and enhancements of existing methodologies. Educate clients on DTCC services and Risk initiatives.
  • Contribute to supporting the department in adherence to AML/BSA policies and procedures as set-forth by various regulatory bodies.
  • Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment for everyone, embrace differences, and contribute to a positive team dynamic.

Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be working towards a bachelor's degree in the following curriculums and graduating no later than May 2022: Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting
  • Financial Services industry internship experience in the areas of margining, market risk analysis, or product management.
  • Experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter, who can set priorities, take initiative and work both independently and proactively in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet aggressive deadlines and objectives
  • Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (now or in the future)
  • Candidates must have minimum of a 3.2 GPA upon graduation
