Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:Candidate should have good experience in MongoDB database administration. Candidate with experience on other technologies like DB2 as well will be added advantage. The candidate should have understanding and working experience on when considered for MongoDB
  • MongoDB Database Administration.
  • Performance Tuning, Query Optimization and other related monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Ops manager.
  • Fine-Tune Configurations- MongoDB for performance improvements.
  • Should have knowledge of performing health checks to monitor
  • Identify slow queries
  • Replication lags
  • Node failures
  • Partial Index and usage patterns.
  • CPU/Memory usage
  • Locks
  • Number of connections.
    • Configuring and monitoring Automation agent.
    • MongoDB Upgrades.
    • Event, Incident, change and problem management.
    • Database support – production and test.
    • Database authentication mechanism.
    • Database migration.
    • Database maintenance.
    • Database audit & compliance.
    • Open to learn other supported database technologies and tools (DB2, Maria DB and Sybase)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people
    • Team player with the ability to work independently
    • Basics and advanced concepts of Replication/Sharding
    • Performance tuning/Database profiling
    • Types of indexes and index creation strategies
    • MongoDB utilities like export/import and working knowledge in OpsManager GUI
    • Knowledge of monitoring tools(mongotop, mongostat etc)
    • Replica set maintenance and troubleshooting , Sharded Cluster maintenance, data management and troubleshooting
    • User/role management, authentication mechanisms supported by MongoDB
    • Practical knowledge of Disaster Recovery(Resilience and service recovery).
    • Knowledge of Backup/restore and PIT recovery of Replica sets. Backup and Restore with Filesystem Snapshots and sharded clusters.

    Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experienced in ITIL for incident and change management
    • Good knowledge about scripting on a Linux platform
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Installation, Upgradation and configuration of DB2 product.
    • DB2 User and Access/privilege Management.
    • DB2 DB backup - Restore and Recovery knowledge.
    • Knowledge of DB2 Utilities like Load/Explain/Reorg/Runstats/db2top/db2advis/backup/etc.
