The Solution Architect provides technical leadership on MuleSoft implementation projects. This person is primarily responsible for evaluating technical and functional requirements and for developing a sound architectural blueprint in line with business goals. The architect will advise on best practices for integrations and API management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with technical and business stakeholders to gather development requirements, translating these requirements to specs to be implemented alongside developers.
  • Manage and maintain the Anypoint Platform and connected runtimes.
  • Define API endpoints and data contracts.
  • Manage the CI/CD pipeline used to deploy APIs through environments.
  • Take a leading role in the bank's C4E committee, ensuring adherence to best practices, re-use, etc.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of all integrations and APIs.
Maintain a deep understanding of the MuleSoft platform including Mule Runtime, available connectors, Design Center and API Management.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with business partners, vendors and developers to collect and translate requirements for all involved parties.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Deep understanding of all aspects of the MuleSoft platform, including but not limited to Anypoint Studio, Design Center, Management Center, Exchange, etc.
  • A solid understanding of all aspects of the application development process as they pertain to the MuleSoft platform.
  • Experience using SOAP and REST protocols is a must.
  • Experience defining API contracts through RAML is a must.
  • Strong Java and related programming experience - design patterns, SOAP, REST, scripting, etc.
  • Experience working with Azure CI/CD pipelines a plus.
  • Mentor and train the internal team on design and architecture best practices.
  • Ability to multi-task and be able to handle projects throughout the entire project life cycle.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 3 years' experience with the MuleSoft platform, including Java development, SOAP, REST and RAML.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in design/architecture, specifically with MuleSoft.
  • MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect certification.
MS SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle database experience, Anypoint Platform, GIT, Azure software suites experience and/or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect certification is preferred.
