Responsibility: -Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment-Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services.-Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.-Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.

Skills:

-Specific knowledge and 0 to 3 years of experience with Cisco and Juniper routers-Knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routing-Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies-Experience with protocols-Firewall experience such as (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG etc.)-Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers-Certifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are a plus

BNOC 5G Ops Engineer 1 or 2

Responsible for operating, managing and supporting high profile Commercial customers, Xfinity 5G network, and network services as well as associated infrastructure in a 7/24 environment. Examples of infrastructure include routers, switches, CMTS, 5G RAN, Firewalls, etc. Day-to-day operational responsibilities include pro-active monitoring, isolation, triage, and resolution of all network outages/impairments. Serves as operations support for various regions, vendors, and internal/external organizations. Drives standardization and service-focused instrumentation. Contributes to the control network-related activities focused on restoration of outages, clear and concise communication across Comcast/Commercial customers, and rapid restoration of network services. Works and directly leads external vendors, third parties, and associated fix agents, when necessary, to address issues across the network, peering arrangements, inter-operability issues, etc. Works with limited supervision and direction while executing associated functions and responsibilities. Follows all operational practices and independently determines/develops approaches for non-routine solutions. Receives general direction in the areas of focus.

Responsibilities• Provide remote operational support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems, and implement resolutions with deployed 5G Core, RAN, Transport and other network systems deployed nationwide.• Quickly analyze RAN service and system issues, determine corrective actions and implement steps to restore services, and escalate complex issues to higher Tier organizations – Tier 2/3 etc.• Document all troubleshooting steps, engagement, event timeline, corrective actions implemented in ServiceNow ticketing system. Corrective actions can range from hardware resets to Network Function stop/restarts. Manage escalation processes as needed for all incidents as outlined.• Enter/update Trouble Tickets with technical details as part incident management lifecycle.• Assist with schedule/coordination efforts for further troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or hardware replacement requests.• Provide ongoing process improvement feedback to BNOC and 5G Ops leadership teams.• Work with technical teams to document troubleshooting steps and methods to improve processes.• Ability to thrive in a high-stress environment while working on restoration efforts for multiple network incidents. • Be detail oriented with fault isolation and engage higher-level escalation teams in a timely manner for incident resolutions – maintain service Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) within set standards.• Setup dispatch and troubleshoot issues with local field operations to resolve customer/network related issues• Ensure seamless ongoing network events/incidents handoffs between BNOC shifts and 5G Tier 2 Ops• Engage and escalate issues with vendor Care support teams when critical/time-sensitive support and resolution are needed.• Support site monitoring/health checks following maintenance activities.• Collect traces for network faults using vendor-specific tools as well as network probes.• This position requires 8 x 5 shift coverage and rotational on-call assistance to support network outages that occur outside standard business hours.
