Network Engineer - FULL TIME

Role: Network Engineer Location: NJ, Parkside Ave & Buttonwood Drive, Ewing Township, NJ Type: Full Time

• Responsible for leading the database operations of multiple critical ratings applications in Moody's Investors Service Tech.
• Work on activities related to database administration including backup and recovery, replication, tuning, security, release management, upgrades and installs.
• Planning, engineering, design, implementation and managing database/ETL services for technologies in scope.
• Develop and incorporate new and existing data sources/feeds into database infrastructure.
• At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with at least one of the databases including Postgres, Sybase etc
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
• DevOps automation on all aspect of the platform (DB install/configure/Deployments)
• Perform user provisioning, server performance management, license management, and version upgrades
• Stay current with product releases to be able to provide support and training for our customers
• Track and document the lifecycle of the platform, database and middleware infrastructure per application/technology
• Develop and implement appropriate troubleshooting tools/technologies for proactively identifying problems including steps to quickly triage the problem leading to faster time to resolution
• Implement and maintain database security(SSL/AD/OKTA authentication) as per Moody's InfoSec guidelines and standards
• Setup Database Level Audit (DDL/DML) as per requirements, automate reporting and integrate with current delivery mechanism.
• Partner with Level 2 team in creating SOPs and reporting for operations teams and ensure adherence to the same
• Communicate with Vendor to resolve technical issues

• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong experience in managing AWS RDS versions of the relational DBs
• 5+ years of experience in leading large-scale migration programs with hands-on expertise in application portfolio analysis, application assessment, migration process design, migration tools implementation, migration execution, or operational integration.
  • Ability to configure and maintain high availability Database solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of prevalent database solutions and application data models.
  • Generate complex queries and reports as required.
  • Work with internal teams to lead testing/quality assurance of new database features.
  • Master's degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • Proficiency in one of the scripting languages - python, ruby, java or similar.
  • 3+ years of experience any one of technologies like Oracle, SQL Server / MySQL / Postgres / DB2 or Sybase Production DBA
  • Expertise in large cross platform database migration.
  • Expertise in Data Migration Tools like AWS DMS, SCT and GoldenGate.
• Experience in Open Source Database Technology Platforms such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with databases of 1-10TB in size across multiple database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) is desired
