- Knowledge/good foundational understanding of network technologies on:
- Layer 2/3 protocols.
- Internet Protocols – IP.
- Routing Protocols; BGP, OSPF and MLPS.
- Troubleshoot network outages, network latency, or CPE failures.
- Process all customer calls/emails and take ownership of issue until resolution.
- Proactive/Reactive monitoring of Commercial Network Core/Edge devices using various Element Management tools (Spectrum, Ericson Experience Manager, SevOne, etc) to isolate and troubleshoot all network related issues.
- Setup dispatch and troubleshoot issues with local field operations to resolve customer/network related issues.
- Direct efforts so as to maintain service Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) within regional or contractual standards.
- High profile customer for cell backhauls and carrier ethernet.
- Proactive monitoring – monitor network elements for alarms with tools.
- Process a ticket form thee and work with customer to resolve asap.
- Engineer works E2E to restore access.
- Must identify if problem is in core network or other places.
- Work on a NOC-to-NOC relationship basis, not to the actual end user with the customer.
