A services organization in New Jersey is looking to fill an immediate need with the addition of a new NOC Level 1 Support Engineer to their growing staff in a Hybrid position. This is a hybrid role requiring the qualified professional to work at least 2 days onsite.
Responsibilities: The NOC Level 1 Support Engineer (Hybrid) will:- Act as the first point of contact for all incidents
- Analyze and report network alerts generated by the monitoring tools
- Open tickets as per defined severities
- Act as first line of contact for all Trouble Ticket issues, maintain the shift log and distribution list
- Create and follow up to change requests, incidents/Break-fixes and perform other scheduled activities within the SLA requirements
- Interface with Carriers, Open tickets track to resolution
- Maintain vendor and visitor contact lists
- Create tickets and coordinate
- Maintain list of inventories of spare parts for network
- Make sure to keep up to date inventory of network infrastructure
- Perform other duties, as needed
- Technical knowledge and understanding of basic to mid level network design and Cisco IOS commands.
- Experience with various monitoring tools and ability to perform basic troubleshooting of existing network equipment including CISCO and AVAYA
- Relevant experience in NOC/production support environment
- Experience with the following tools: RTTS, XMC, Footprint, etc.
- Experience with platforms: Cisco, Extreme, Avaya, etc.
- Thorough understanding of monitoring tools, such as RTS, SolarWinds
- Thorough understanding of Monitoring Tools, standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions (WI) and documentation for Network Operations Center (NOC)
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or a related field
