Operations Coordinator for Specialty Food Distributor

Job Title: Operations Coordinator

Reports To: Warehouse Director

Schedule: Monday – Friday 9am – 5:00pm

Pay: Salary (based on experience) + full benefits

Location: On Site

Description: The Operations Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Warehouse Director to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant daily operations of the warehouse, staff and drivers. The OC is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of inventory control systems, temperature monitoring systems, and basic sanitation practices. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about food, is proficient with good food distribution practices required to store and transport food products and maintains a drive for continuous improvement. The Operations Coordinator is also responsible for data entry into our ERP system and effective communication with vendors.

The right candidate possesses the following skills:

- Passionate about food and has experience in the food service industry

- Driven by continuous improvement

- Can maintain balance between office and warehouse work. i.e. can place purchase orders with vendors and then move to the warehouse to assist with packing orders or organizing inventory.

- Solution oriented, efficient, system oriented

- Experience with food handling

- Valid driver’s license and transportation

- Able to lift > 50lbs

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assist Warehouse Director with daily operations, serve as backup when Warehouse Director goes on Vacation

- Monitor cooler records

- Conduct daily sanitation inspections

- Monitor and maintain effective and safe storage systems

- Ensure all product is stored according to GDP’s and FIFO

- Utilize ERP system to manage inventory and assist with product orders

- Conduct and document receiving activities and verify incoming PO’s

- Conduct staff training as needed

- Inventory Management

- Food safety system implementation (HACCP, FSVP, supplier monitoring)

- Sanitation Implementation

- Coordinate basic maintenance and pest control

- Pack orders, assist with fulfilling order for large accounts

- Assists with the identification of new vendors and new product sourcing

- Maintain truck maintenance schedule and monitor refrigeration units and maintain sanitation expectations.
