Position: Operations Manager

Location: Edison, NJ (Hybrid)

Permanent The Operations Manager oversees the management of the NJ Operations Department and Works with the VP of Operations in MTY to formulate policies, manage daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources in Monterrey, Mexico production, manufacturing, packaging, and distribution areas. The Operations Manager will direct activities so that approved products and projects are manufactured on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. The Operations Manager will manage, direct, and implement operations strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of corporate goals with a focus on short-term and long-term goals. The Operations Manager needs a diversified background with strong technical, business, and managerial skills and will ensure compliance with all government and regulatory agencies. The Operations Manager is expected to work cohesively with associates, business partners, customers, and vendors, acting with integrity and concern. This position manages all employees of the Operations department and is responsible for the leadership, performance management, and hiring of the employees within that department. The Operations manager will oversee inventory, purchasing, project management, logistics & compliance and customer service.The Operations Manager will interface with the Monterrey facility, enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities. This position is a member of the Sr. Management Team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assists company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.
  • Coordinate an action plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards in Monterrey and New Jersey operations to ensure that products conform to established company quality standards. Oversee any quality issues and work to rectify with the Monterrey team
  • Formulate and recommend policies and procedures that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation. Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce costs in all areas
  • Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and results
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations. Consult with the Human Resources Department as appropriate
  • Responsible for developing and managing the NJ budget. Collaborate with Monterrey on annual budget
  • Keep up to date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance
  • Manage the operations function concurrent with:
  • Business growth
  • Introduction of new operational systems
  • Meeting department financial objectives
  • Product mix change (components/system)
  • Meeting goals in relation to safety, quality, and on-time delivery of products
  • Manage and assist in coordinating efforts between departments within the organization. Provide a leadership role in the integration of efforts within operations, office, and warehouse for the effective introduction of new quality systems and technology within operations
  • Is a member of the Sr. Management Team and operations staff and is a key contributor to:
  • The overall long range planning process.
  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals as set forth in the budget
  • Continuously improve customer satisfaction through programs to reduce delinquencies, provide on-time delivery, and meet customer quality and cost expectations
  • Prepare reports and presentations for President and Parent Company
  • Ensure that evaluation systems are accurate and review budgets with the Controller.

    • BA/BS Degree in Business or related field
    • 10+ Years Operations experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles
    • P&L knowledge and understanding
    • Multi-tasking and coordinate project with changing priorities
    • Strong Mathematical skills
    • Work independently and within a team environment
    • Some travel required (+/- 20%)
    • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results
    • Product development, prototype, and design and/or product launch a plus
    • This role requires an in-depth understanding of and hands-on working knowledge of Operations
