This position is for an Oracle Database Administrator with experience administering and configuring databases. The candidate should have a keen aptitude for learning with system administration and technical abilities to script and maintain existing legacy system. Candidate should be able to communicate effectively with DBA team members and developers. Candidate will need to work on monitoring, troubleshooting and database performance tuning skills in high availability environments. Though the stack is primarily oracle , we also have a small footprint of sql server on windows . So familiarity with SQL server and windows is a highly desired.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Proactively monitor database performance to report, communicate and take the needed actions required to improve the throughput, performance and stability of the database platform.
  • Manages database backup scripts and should be familiar with RMAN on Rubrik.
  • Provide basic database administration to Oracle RAC 12c/19c databases running on , Linux and Windows server.
  • Install, configure, support Data guard and maintain Oracle RDBMS and Oracle Grid Infrastructure applications and apply required patches and updates
  • Contribute to archiving and masking projects and learn and implement DBA scripts, procedures and standards
  • Work with application developers to collect troubleshooting information and work towards resolving release issues and performance concerns.
  • Familiar with data guard setup and cloud onboarding.
  • Should be proficient in SQL PL/SQL and sh/ksh/bash scripting
  • Good interpersonal skills and an aptitude to solve problems.

Required Qualifications:
  • College degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of technical knowledge required.
  • 5+ years of Oracle RDBMS production experience with 4 years of production support experience in keeping critical high available , very large Databases.
  • Should be willing and adaptable to learn, support and contribute to customizations and in house developed solutions without barriers.
  • Working experience with Oracle environment and SQL Server experience is a plus.
  • Experience Installing, configuring, upgrading and applying patches to SQL server,
  • Familiarity with oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM and Data Guard on Solaris, Linux and Windows
  • Experience with Backup and Restore strategies and creating RMAN backup scripts and database duplication using RMAN
  • Ability to troubleshoot and setup and performance issues with SQL server.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and time management skills
  • Understanding of system architecture is a plus.
  • Experience in data modeling tools like Erwin is preferred.
  • 3+ years production experience with some programming languages TSQL/Perl/shell or PL/SQL programming experience is required.
  • Good knowledge of linux / unix/ windows operating systems is preferred and prior working experience on windows platforms is required
