Oracle PL SQL Developer

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Location: Jersey City, NJ / Bryant Park, NY

Job Description:

The team is looking for a strong oracle database developer who has expertise with performance tuning – (very strong)
They just don’t need a Oracle DBA, they need a hard-core PLSQL developer; someone who can manage and develop and tune the codes
someone who has worked with Exadata and has experience on Performance Tuning at Application, database and OS levels using Optimization, Indexes, Explain Plan Monitoring, SQL Tuning, Object-Oriented PL/SQL, JSON design and development.
Experience with hash reports gives us the clarity that candidate has really worked extensively on Performance Tuning.
Manager doesn’t need a hard-core python developer but someone who can understand the codes in python.
Currently team is using oracle 19C
Manager is looking for a performance tuning expert in aspect of the application side

Job Description:

The job role will involve the development, maintenance and support of the applications with in the Global markets technology environment. An enterprise wide platform hosts very large volumes of trade positions and reference data that supports business functions including Credit risk, Margin, Regulatory, compliance, client valuations, treasury and finance. The candidate should expect to contribute to design discussions with the other members of the development team, conform to team process, including test-driven development and source code control practices, and have the confidence to interact directly with user when trouble shooting any issues with the production system. The candidate should be equally comfortable working closely with the lead developer and independently under their own initiative.
Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Resource work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Resource is expected to have in-depth capital markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Resource typically should have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages.

Qualification and Required Skills:

Must have a bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with 8+ years of experience Or Master Degree in computer science with 6+ years of experience in the IT industry.
Developing database utilities using PL/SQL for large databases is a must. UNIX shell scripting will be of use.
Must have a proven track record in implementing large databases in oracle.
Must have experience in tuning query performance and review / analyze AWR / ASH analytics.
Must have skills in contributing to enterprise project deliveries preferably within a financial institution.
Experience with object databases and other relational databases is preferred.
Experience working in agile environment with ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and work independently.

Desired Skills:

Database design & development with Oracle (12c & higher) with Exadata implementations
Performance tuning of Very Large Oracle Database is required
PL/SQL development & performance tuning
Python programming is required.
