Position: Oracle / Unix Developer

Duration: Long Term Contract

Location: Newark, NJ (Remote till COVID)

Domain: Financial technology

EST and CST time zone candidates only.

Job Description: Client is looking to hire ORACLE/UNIX developer to implement clearance & settlement processing solutions focused on Options and physical securities (DTCC custody and transfer) processing for brokerage clients. This is a highly technical role where you will be responsible for development delivery.The ideal candidate will have a good attitude, willingness and ability to take on responsibility, solve issues independently. Overall responsibility for the assigned system or services will require work in all aspects of the product including maintenance, enhancements, support and deployment.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the design, coding, debugging and testing of new and existing programs
  • Develop solutions using Oracle database, UNIX, Java/Java EE technologies.
  • Implement changes according to standard turnover procedures with a CI/CD focus including weekend or late evening coverage where required
  • Provide production systems support including evening and weekends where necessary

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of application development experience using, ORACLE 12c, UNIX, PL/SQL, JAVA/J2EE technologies.
  • Hands on experience of Oracle based tools i.e. Toad/SQL Developer, Database design, SQL performance tuning.
  • Strong experience across full technology stack to trace, isolate and resolve issues
  • Must have ability to work in an Agile manner and have exposure to Jenkins and Junit.
  • Good work ethic and willingness to work weekends and evenings where necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in building scalable and robust applications.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with Git and JIRA.
  • Exposure to DevOps CI/CD via Jenkins.
  • Knowledge or experience with Core Java, Apache Camel, Kafka.
  • Knowledge or experience with MQ/NDM/SFTP and Autosys/TWS scheduling tools.
  • Knowledge of investment Banking and Clearance & Settlements domain.
