General DescriptionInstall, support, and maintain the Palo Alto suite of products. In a senior capacity, the engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of security infrastructure systems and equipment. This position will be involved in both remote and on-site troubleshooting.Responsibilities:Maintain University security devices and upgrade, as neededProviding support for other engineers on Palo Alto equipment/softwareWork alongside in-house staff in the capacity of senior network security engineerServe as an escalation point to resolve complex Palo Alto issuesDocument and design new installation replacement rollouts from Cisco to Palo AltoPro-actively review and maintain client infrastructureRespond to emergency situations and perform expert troubleshooting duringproduction outagesWorking remotely or onsite as per business requirementsExperience/Skills:Hands on knowledge and experience installing and supporting Palo Alto Security Appliances (minimum five years)Experience managing and configuring the Cisco ASA platform.Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 7-8 (PCNSE7-8) certificationpreferred.Intimate knowledge with design of physical infrastructure (power, fiber, OOB, etc) Knowledge of protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel,Static routingNetworking segmentation topologies and protocols. Examples being MPLS, VRFPalo Alto and Cisco Command line interface experience (CLI)Must have a strong networking background and understandingA high level of Palo Alto expertise in design, configuration, migrations, tuning andcustomization of featuresThorough knowledge of Panorama, WildFire, Global Protect, S2S VPN, and other Palo Alto features.Familiarity with hosted deployments/cloudExperience with Wireshark or other protocol analyzersExcellent communication skills - both written and verbalMust be flexible to work outside of business hours as per business requirements.
